The Price of Gas?
I am getting tired of all the hand wringing going on, especially in my own Democratic Party, about the price of gas due to Trump’s war in Iran. What about the brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, children, parents, aunts, uncles and fellow service members of those 13 American soldiers killed in the war. I admit I drive a gas guzzler and I hate paying nearly $5 per gallon. And yes, I understand that for many Americans with limited income that the extra dollar or more paid at the pump is having an impact on their lives. But at least for most of us, we are not mourning the loss of someone dear to us in for no reason. A war that will have no good outcome and will probably make things worse in the Middle East. Republicans and Independents are guilty of the same sin of omission too, but not to the same extent as my fellow Dems. 13 soldiers lost their lives for a war that their Commander in Chief cannot justify. As the Father of two retired Naval Aviators, I can only say that at least for me, I don’t have to worry about getting that knock on the door. I wish I could say the same for tens of thousands of the families of American service men and women now serving overseas.
