Maybe I am Confused Donald Trump starts a war without the approval of, or consultation with Congress. This war is costing somewhere around $1 Billion dollars a day and yet Congress has not approved one cent to finance his war. One of the various reasons Trump attacked Iran was regime change and to accomplish that Trump needs to obliterate Iran’s military and wreck it’s economy. And among the several ways of doing that he has lifted some of the sanctions on Iran. And to further his goal he also lifted some sanctions on Russian oil. The same oil that is propelling Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Oil from the same dictatorship that is providing intelligence to Iran’s military to be used to kill and injure American soldiers. Trump declares daily that the war is won and then states that it probably will be over in another week or two. Trump gives Iran deadlines with dire threats if they don’t do what he wants and then extends those deadlines again and again. Trump says that there will be no American troops on the ground unless he changes his mind and yet there are thousands of Marines on their way across ocean heading to do battle with a country whose soldiers believe that dying for the Ayatollah will get them into heaven where 70 some virgins await them. Now to be sure, Iran having atom bombs is a terrible idea and should not be allowed. But as a retired Army general pointed out, the much-feared enriched uranium can be stored in barrels and kept in someone’s garage, back porch or the basement of houses. In other words, we have no idea where it is. Therefore all those bombs we are dropping may not solve the problem. So what the heck are we doing?
