Ramblings

Welcome to my first attempt at a blog. Since I submit more Letters to the Editor than they publish I thought some of you might want to read the rejects. But mainly I get a kick out of seeming my words in print and on-line.

Just in case anyone outside of my circle of friends and relatives stumbles upon these pages, I am an 81 year old, 56 year resident of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

I graduated from the University of Akron with a major in Political Science which qualifies me for just about nothing. If I have any writing skills they must have been passed down from my Father who was an award winning writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

My claim to fame, other than having 4 great kids, is that I was at the 7th game of the 1960 World Series when Bill Mazeroski hit one over the left field wall to win the Series in the bottom of the ninth. As an aside I would like to see if anyone out there knows who was playing left field at the time.

So what do I hope to accomplish with these writings? Nothing much. In future blogs I will get into local and national politics a bit. Living here in Mohave County, in Western Arizona, which is deeply red I am sort of an oddity. Mohave County went for Trump to the tune of 78%. I welcome opposing thoughts as it would be pretty boring if everyone agreed with me! But if you are Red or Blue or somewhere in the middle I hope you will post your opinions. But let’s all just keep it cool.
